Midget AA Hounds Fundraiser

LAA Midget AA Hounds are having a fundraiser for the two Midget AA boys that passed away recently in Alberta. It is going to be Saturday from 11:30 to 4:00, at Henderson Arena. $5.00 for a bowl of chilli with bun, all funds will be going to their memorial fund.

Pronghorns News Nov 4/11

The Pronghorns AAA Midgets headed north this past weekend for two games. The game against the top team in the league, the St. Alberta Sport Raiders, ended in a 9-5 loss. Goals from the Pronghorns where from Connor Gross, a hat trick with three, and one each by Bryson Gore and Craig Lyon. Tyson Brouwer stood tall in net against a very fast and skilled northern team.
The second game against Edmonton’s Gregg Distributors ended in a 7-4 loss. Craig Lyon netted a pair of goals and one each from Jay Hitchcock and Jackson Purvis.
The team would like to congratulate Jonathon Hogue who played in the U16 Challenge Cup for Team Alberta. Team Alberta won the U16 Challenge cup this past weekend – Congratulations Jonny!
The Pronghorns are in Calgary this weekend to face the Buffalos and the Flames.

Midget AAA Pronghorns News Update

The Midget AAA Pronghorns have completed eight games and have 2 wins, 3 ties and 3 losses. They began their season on the road September 30 with a 4-2 win against the Calgary Northstars. The second game against the UFA Bisons in Strathmore resulted in a 2-2 tie. Two home games the following weekend earned them one point with a 3-3 tie against the SSAC BP Athletics and a 5-3 loss against the Kof C Pats.
On the October 15/16th weekend the Pronghorns earned another 3 points with a 4-3 win over Medicine Hat and another tie with the UFA Bisons (4-4).
The October 21/22 weekend brought two 6-2 losses against the Red Deer and Sherwood Park.
The Pronghorns head north next weekend where they will face the St Albert sports Raiders and Edmonton’s Gregg Distributors.

Welcome to the 2011/2012 hockey season. As a coaching staff we are excited at the opportunity to coach the Midget ‘AAA’ Pronghorns. We are expecting a very competitive camp and would like to wish all players the best of luck!

Team Philosophy

The Philosophy of the Midget AAA Team will be to develop players and people. The team focus will be around communication, hard work with a purpose, forming of relationships and attention to details. There will be high expectations of coaches, parents, players, trainers, and managers. We will need to work together as a group to move the team forward in a successful direction. The concept of success will be accomplished by the development of player and person through respect, discipline and accountability. We believe this will inevitably lead to having success on the ice. There will be pride taken in the association, the sweater and the privilege to play on the Midget AAA team.

- All players from within the Lethbridge Minor Hockey boundaries are to be registered with Lethbridge Minor Hockey before registering with LAA.
- All players from outside the Lethbridge Minor Hockey boundaries trying out for LAA must have a Permission to Tryout form (Hockey Alberta website) signed by their association president before they can register.
- Only players within the Lethbridge Minor Hockey boundaries are eligible to play on all AA teams.

These are all 8 team tournaments with a guarantee of 4 games of 20 minute stop time periods. The cost of the tournament is $1,000.00 per team for all AA teams and $1,200.00 for all AAA teams.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the LAA board for giving us a position to work within the association again in the upcoming year! We are excited and understand the work that comes with being a part of the Midget AAA program. We would like to start the process of preparing for next year by having our first part of our team fitness component. We feel that players’ preparation for the season is very important. We want to be ready for the start of the year and the June weekend will be the first phase of this process. Players will be put through fitness tests that will be used again in August and September. Please complete the Midget AAA Fitness Form to confirm your participation on the weekend and we look forward to the first step in putting together the Midget AAA team for the 2011-2012 season!
