LAA Minor AAA Midget Hurricanes

The LAA Minor AAA Midget Hurricanes were on the road this past weekend. Saturday October 29th they played the Calgary Royal Gold at Max Bell Arena. The Hurricanes lost 6-2. They were out shot 30 to 23. Scoring for the Hurricanes was Jared Broderson and Ralph Thrall IV. Logan Rowley took the loss in net.

Sunday October 30th the Hurricanes travelled to Airdre where they played a more spirited game but still lost to the A C Avalanche 7-4. The seventh goal was into an empty net The Hurricanes out shot the Avalanche 38- 30. Scoring for the Hurricanes was Jared Broderson with 2 goals with singles from Landon Gross and Matthew Nadeau. Brooklyn Paisley took the loss between the pipes.

The Huricanes record is 2-6-1 at this point in the season. Next action for the AAA Minor Midget Hurricanes will be Friday November 11th 2:30 PM at Henderson Ice Arena against the Calgary NWCAA Bruins and Saturday November 12th also at Henderson against the Calgary CBHA Black Hawks time once again 2:30 PM.

Midget AA Hockey Hounds

The Midget AA Hockey Hounds have played eight games and have a 3-4-1 record to date. The Hounds did not score any points on opening weekend but played to a loss with Wheatland Chiefs of 5-3 and 5-0 loss to CBHA Blackhawks on the road.
The next weekend the Hounds won a 4-2 match again the NWCAA Stamps and lost a 5-3 game against Medicine Hat. The following weekend with a rematch against the Hat the Hounds came away with 3-2 win.
This past weekend the Hounds managed 3 out of 4 possible points with a 5-4 win over the Innisfail Flyers on Saturday and a 2-2 tie with Airdrie Lightning on Sunday.
This weekend the Hounds will face the Lacombe Rockets in a home game and head to Brooks on Sunday.

Midget AAA Pronghorns News Update

The Midget AAA Pronghorns have completed eight games and have 2 wins, 3 ties and 3 losses. They began their season on the road September 30 with a 4-2 win against the Calgary Northstars. The second game against the UFA Bisons in Strathmore resulted in a 2-2 tie. Two home games the following weekend earned them one point with a 3-3 tie against the SSAC BP Athletics and a 5-3 loss against the Kof C Pats.
On the October 15/16th weekend the Pronghorns earned another 3 points with a 4-3 win over Medicine Hat and another tie with the UFA Bisons (4-4).
The October 21/22 weekend brought two 6-2 losses against the Red Deer and Sherwood Park.
The Pronghorns head north next weekend where they will face the St Albert sports Raiders and Edmonton’s Gregg Distributors.

Lethbridge Val Matteoti Golden Hawks

The Lethbridge Val Matteoti Golden Hawks had 2 wins on the road last weekend. They met the Okotoks Oilers Sat. Robert Brewin was in net for the Hawks. Austin Moser had a hat trick for the Hawks, scoring 1 in the !st period assisted by Chase Bell and Andrew Thompson. His other 2 in the 2nd period were assisted by Braeden Ruff, Chase Bell, Carson Beers and Robert Brewin. Bryce De Boer scored the 2nd goal for the Hawks assisted by Carson Beers and Chase Williamson. The Hawks didn’t score any goals in the 3rd but managed to hold on for the win, 4-3.

Sunday the Lethbridge Val Matteoti Golden Hawks met the Calgary NorthStars at Max Bell. In net for the Hawks was Arik Weersink who only allowed one goal. Scoring for the Hawks in the 1st period was Chase Williamson and in the 2nd period 2 goals were credited to Braeden Ruff with Chase Bell assisting all three goals. Again no scoring in the 3rd for the Hawks but they went on to win 3-1.

Next action for the Hawks is a home game against the Calgary NorthStars Sat, Oct. 22 and a game at Max Bell vs. the Calgary Bisons, Sun. Oct. 23rd.

Val Matteoti Golden Hawks

The Lethbridge Val Matteoti Golden Hawks took to the road Sat., Oct. 8th. They met the Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds with the game ending in a 4-4 tie. Scoring for the Hawks in the second period were Chase Williamson assisted by Ryan Tessemaker, Bryce De Boer assisted by Andrew Thompson and Austyn Moser assisted by Chase Bell. The 4th goal of the evening for the Hawks came in the 3rd period at 13:59 to put the Hawks ahead by a goal. That goal was scored by Laramie Kostelanksy, assisted by Kyler Newman. Medicine Hat answered with the tieing goal at 6:02. In net for the Hawks was Robert Brewin.

On Sunday the Hawks went to Calgary to meet the Bronks. The Hawks found themselves down by 4 goals at the end of the 1st period. The Bronks added another to make it 5-0 in the second when the Hawks finally put 2 in the net at 7:40 and 6:28. Those goals were credited to Andrew Thompson assisted by Chase Bell and Ryan Stronski assisted by Carson Beers and Devin Ruff. A third goal was added in the 3rd by Daylan Marchi with the assist going to Bryce De Boer. The Bronks added 2 more in the 3rd to defeat the Hawks 7-3. Arik Weersenk was in net for the Hawks.

Next action for the Val Matteoti Golden Hawks will be in Okotoks, Sat., Oct. 15th and in Calgary vs. the Northstars, Sun., Oct 16th.

The Lethbridge Val Matteoti Golden Hawks had a home game vs. Red Deer White on Sun. Oct. 2nd. Red Deer led at the end of the 1st period 3-1. Carson Beers scored the only goal for the Hawks assisted by Taner Miller. The 2nd period both teams scored 1 goal with Laramie Kostelansky scoring for the Hawks assisted by Ryan Stronski. The 3rd period saw Chase Bell scoring @ 9:02 assisted by Austyn Moser and Kyler Newman. Laramie Kostelansky scored with 40 seconds left assisted by Chase Bell and Carson Beers. Unfortunately Red Deer scored an empty netter with 11 seconds left to win the game 6-4. The Hawks go on the road Sat. Oct. 8th in Medicine Hat and Sun Oct 9th at Max Bell vs Calgary Bronks.
