LAA Midget AA Hurricanes Win Game #1 in South Division Championship
The Midget AA Hurricanes took control of Game #1 with a 3 – 0 lead by midway through the second period. Foothills then capitalized on penalties and scored 2 Power play goals.
The 3rd period was action packed but Lethbridge never lost the lead in the game. Jamie Schimanski helped by scoring a short handed unassisted goal in the 3rd as well as an open net goal which clinched the game for Lethbridge.
Final score was 6 – 4 Lethbridge
Next game is slated for 5p.m. Saturday at Henderson Arena.
Midget AA Hurricanes 1st Game of 2nd Round of Playoffs
After easily taking the first round of the playoffs against Medicine Hat, Lethbridge traveled to Cranbrook Sunday for the 1st game of the best of 3 against Cranbrook. Next Game in the best of 3 is slated for Saturday at Henderson Ice Arena at 2:30 p.m.

The LAA Hurricanes closed out their regular season with a win at home on Feb. 26 and a loss at Medicine Hat Feb. 27. Tyson Brouwer was in net with 34 saves in the Canes 4-1 win over the CBHA Blackhawks. Scoring for the Canes were Shaun Kern, Jordan Wiest, Jace Jurgens and Justin Meier. All goals were assisted with assists going to Gray Marr (2), Clay Spencer (2), Shaun Kern (2), Matthew Rypien and Jace Jurgens.
Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds took the win against the Canes on Sun. 3-2. David Rupp was in net for the Canes. Scoring in the 1st period for the M15′s was Cavin Leth assisted by Logan Wakaluk. In the 3rd period at 1:15 Justin Mitchell scored the 2nd goal on a power play, unassisted.
Next action for the LAA Hurricanes will start Thurs., March 10 at Max Bell in the round robin Sutter Cup AMMHL Championship games.
